Making change happen
Why all adults with Cerebral Palsy need an annual health check for their lifelong condition
GPs for CP
Primary care should be the front door to the NHS – but for many adults with CP that door is half closed. We are calling for clear guidance, longer appointments where needed, and defined referral pathways to specialist services.
Transition reform
Support should not disappear at 18. We campaign for transition to be planned and coordinated – a bridge, not a cliff edge – with joint working between paediatric and adult teams.
Specialist adult CP services
Adults with CP need multidisciplinary, specialist services that understand CP across the lifespan, not crisis-driven, one-off interventions. We highlight models that work and press for them to be adopted more widely.
Local advocacy
National change is essential – but local change matters too. you now We support members who are challenging decisions in their area, responding to consultations, or speaking to local leaders about gaps in provision
Data and evidence
People with CP are often invisible in data. We support research that focuses on adulthood and ageing with CP and use the findings to influence policy, commissioning, and service design.
None of this work is abstract. It is driven by the real experiences of adults with CP who are tired of being treated as an afterthought.
