I work full time as a grants officer for a charity
What has been your greatest achievement?
There have been a few! Completing a half Tough Mudder, competing in a CrossFit competition, just to name a few!
What was your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?
The ableist society we live in?! Ha! The biggest challenge I’ve had is probably navigating healthcare as an adult with CP. To overcome it, I have learnt how to self-advocate confidently to ensure my needs are met.
Who was your role model growing up?
I actually don’t think I had one?!
What do you think would help more adults with CP achieve their ambitions?
It’s a common thing that disabled people are led to believe we can’t have ambitions – probably plays into my answer to the previous question. If people with CP have ambitions, I think just pursuing them is the best way to achieve them. There is no reason why people with CP can’t achieve their ambitions, so get out there!
