On 20 March, 2023, there was an Adjournment Debate in the House of Commons on the subject of “Cerebral Palsy: Adult Care Transition”. Paul Maynard, MP, who himself has CP, gave an impassioned speech explaining the inadequate healthcare provision for adults with CP, and calling for the NICE guidelines to be implemented.
Responding was Health Minister, Helen Whately. Watch clips from the debate, and you’ll see that the Minister makes all the right noises, but is clearly unaware of the reality. Write to your MP asking him/her to follow up with the Minister.
