What do you do?
I am a Great Britain and Loughborough Lightning Wheelchair basketball athlete.

What has been your greatest achievement?
My have achieved some great things within my sporting career so far such as Junior World and European Champion, a silver medal at the Senior World championships but becoming a Paralympian is something I will be forever proud of!

What was your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?
My biggest sporting challenge aside from a couple of injuries has been working hard to ensure I can progress in a sport that involves so much coordination! It’s been a lot of trial and error about how I can develop on court/in the gym! Initially, I’d get frustrated that I’d have to do things differently to other athletes but now I see it as a strength I am able achieve the same goals just following my own path! I have found that doing the same movement patterns repetitively have allowed for significant progression!

Who was your role-model growing up?
Surprisingly, I didn’t have any sporting role models although, I loved sport I could never personally relate as I didn’t even know disabled people could compete at a Paralympic level until London 2012! I hope the Paralympic movement has now changed this for those with disabilities growing up! But, my role model was my parents without them I wouldn’t be walking let alone playing sport!

What do you think would help more adults with CP achieve their ambitions?
I think adults with CP who have not had opportunities to achieve ambitions may not think it’s something they can now achieve! I hope through seeing others they realise that they can achieve anything! I want them to realise having CP isn’t a limit to their goals but a platform to achieving them! With more, discussions and visibility of those with Cp being ambitious in life !
